  • General dentistry

General dentistry is that part of the medical sciences dealing with oral hygiene. General dentists are qualified by their education and licensed to practice in all aspects of dentistry. They are able to provide diagnosis, offer regular care like cleaning to remove plaques, sedation treatment, whitening for discoloured teeth, and uncomplicated surgeries. They are at the first level in oral hygiene and they advice the dental patient on what to use and what steps to follow for total oral health.

They are also responsible for determining trends that may point to complications which may need to be referred to a specialist for further intervention. General dentistry is thus the core of the oral health sector.
